Afghanistan, Covid
pandemic and regional security are expected to be core of discussion as leaders
of the BRICS nations including Vladimir Putin, Xi Xinping and Modi to address
summit on Thursday. PM Modi will chair
the summit of the five-nations group including China, Russia, Brazil and South
Africa. This is first summit of the Indian, Chinese and Russian heads after US
withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Interestingly, just
ahead of the BRICS summit top spies of the world have made a beeline in New Delhi
after big intelligence goof-up in Kabul fall and emergence of Talban withPakistan’s alliance, including defence intelligence services as well as other
global intelligence
These top spies
include Richard Moore, top boss of UK Secret Intelligence service or M16, CIA
director William Burns and Russian Security Council head Patrushev. There are
reports of meeting of these top spies with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
All these heads of the
intelligence agencies have visited India just ahead of the Thursday summit of
the BRICS nations.
