Few weeks after the discussing examination strategies in a TV show 'Pariksha pe Charcha' with secondary and senior secondary students the Union government has decided to cancel annual board examination for class 10th students, conducted by CBSE. Board examination of 12th too has been postponed till 1st of June.
The decision has been taken after a high level meeting, convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokharial 'Nishank' and several top officials of the Education Ministry and CBSE.
Later on, talking to media the Union Education Minister said that the decision has been taken after the recent surge in the Corona cases. According to him this will provide relief to over 35 lakh students of 10th. He also said that CBSE has asked to explore the process of evaluation of the these students to promote them in next class.
As far as 12th students are concerned, the decision will impact about 20 lakh students. The government will review the situation later on to conduct the examination.
