Unfolding a new global crisis

The recent withdrawal of the US forces and its allies and evacuation of Afghan people amid chaos is now slowly turned out to be a global crisis. According to reports, while over 1.5 lakh people have been evacuated from the Kabul airport in last 15 days.

But, reports say that over 1.5 million Afghan people have been either moved out or took asylum in various other nations in last one year. Although, UN has started flights for humanitarian aids for Afghanistan but its relation with Taliban regime is not very friendly in the past. On the other hand, EU nations too has been trying to provide aid to the people of Afghanistan to stop influx of refugees in their countries.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi too consulted his senior ministers on the issue of Afghanistan amid the reports of possibility of Taliban’s support for separatist extremists in the Kashmir valley. There are also reports of strengthening of security forces and additional deployment in the border areas. But the concerns are not limited to India alone.

Several other nations including UK, France, Germany, Russia, US, Turkey, Iran and other nations have seen influx of Afghan refugees in their nations. US too has changed its policy on the country makeover. India too is facing lot of pressure to give asylum to Afghan people increasing the complexity of the diplomacy as well as interior affairs.
