Rich tributes to CDS Rawat

Rich tributes have been paid to CDS General Bipin Rawat, passed away on Wednesday in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu. The top most General of defence services Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others died in the crash on Wednesday in Coonoor district of Tamil Nadu.

All major publications have covered tragic incident and paid tributes by publishing special articles on India’s top most general. ‘TN air crash killed CDS’ says ‘The Morning Standard’. ‘The Indian Express’ has carried a special anchor story paying tributes to the CDS Rawat with title ‘Architect of defence reforms; his boots hard to fill’.

The 63-year old General Bipin Rawat was the first CDS, appointed as chief of all defence services in December 2019. ‘The Times of India’ and ‘Hindustan times’ too have carried special coverage of the tragic incident and paid special tributes to the CDS.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed him as “A true patriot” and said that General Rawat has greatly contributed to modernizing our armed forces and security apparatus.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh termed the tragic incident as “irreparable loss” to the country.

Top most defence commander and Chief of Defence Staffs Gen. Bipin Rawat died on Wednesday in a military helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu leaving entire nation shocked and stunned. His wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others too died in the crash.

CDS Bipin Rawat had an illustrious career in Indian Army and he brought several reforms in the defence services including theatrical command and paving ways to provide permanent commission to women. President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and several other top defence and civilian personalities have paid rich tributes to General Rawat.
