What is the connection between Lata Mangeshkar and Jhumari Taleiya? Probably, the new generation could not understand the importance of Jhumari Taleiya. But this small town of Bihar (now in Jharkhand) has been the most uttered place during programme of fermaishi song of any national radio stations or Radio Cylone or Vividh Bharti since 1950s to the advent of FM radio. In such a case, it was not much surprising that the small town shocked as the report of sadly demise of the melody queen flashed. Almost all dhabas and tea stalls have posters of Lata Mangeshkar and they used to send requests to play the songs of their favourite singers to various radio stations through postcards. Needless to say that request for Lata’s song is the highest among them.

Ask any radio station about Jhumari Taleiya, they will instantly recognize the place, due to their popularity, created by the song requests and most of these requests belong to Lata Mangeshkar. Not enough! Her fans are huge not just in numbers but she created a long list of followers with fan clubs. Almost all cities in the North India as well as South India have her fan clubs. It is another matter that the pandemic has made these clubs or associations inactive but their presence is everywhere. But nobody can beat Jhumari Taleiya’s dedication in this concern.

Terabytes of digital contents have been produced and several thousand tonnes of newsprints have been used to publish about the melody queen Lata but nothing could surpass the affection and love extended to the great and most beloved singer of the country through postcards of Jhumari Taleiya for decades. Believe me..
