Kabul crisis: Cabinet committee meets twice in 48 hrs

As the volatile condition in Afghanistan is continue to prevail in Kabul the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has discussed the situation, headed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting took place twice in last 48 hours. The Wednesday meeting has received wide coverage in the media amid the ongoing crisis in the landlocked neighbour. Although, not much has been divulged in the media but focus of discussion has been government's strategy to evacuate Indian citizens in the next few days and to ensure safety to the Hindu and Sikh communities in Afghanistan.

The Prime Minister has already directed the officials to ensure the safety of minority communities in Afghanistan including Hindus and Sikhs and also instructed officials to remain in touch with their leaders, according to reports.
